This modification will allow you to shut the light off when the light head is screwed on tightly (all the way). A slight twist (1/8th turn) will allow turn the light on. This modification should also work for the Halcyon Scout lights, although I have not tried it with that light. |

I've had my own gas mixing whip for about 5 years now, which I
put together myself and upgraded over time to it's current
configuration. Eric asked if I would help him and others in our
local group, put one together for their use so they could set up
their own mixing station. The goal was to put together a whip for
mixing nitrox / trimix that could also be used as a crossover whip,
if needed. The following is an example of how you can put your own
whip together if you are so inclined. If you are more of an armchair
observer it will give you an understanding of how these things are
constructed and used. |

Nowadays, if you want a pair of spring straps for your Jet Fins (or any pair of fins that use adjustable heel straps) it is no longer necessary to make your own. However, if you would like to make your own you can still save a couple of bucks, and maybe even have something a bit better than what's available in the market place! Read on to learn how!

Ok. It's time to build something again. What will it be... hmmmmmmm? I know, how about a drysuit
dryer! I would think these would be mandatory for a neoprene drysuit but I built it for, and use it
with, my trilam, as it gets the feet totally dry in short order and keeps the whole suit smelling
springtime fresh! |

Lurking beneath the psyche of any REAL diver is a deep desire to
make his or her own dive gear. This probably explains why every REAL
diver ALWAYS keeps a roll of duct tape handy, since as everyone knows,
you can make or fix almost anything with a roll of duct tape. In fact
a few years ago I discovered that you could even patch a torn neck seal
with duct tape and it will hold quite well (at least for two days, after
which even I sent the suit in for repair). |
